About Elkhart School of Music
Elkhart School of Music teaches students from age 4 through adult. Whatever instrument you or your child wish to play, odds are we teach it: Piano, Drums, Voice, Violin, Viola, Trumpet, Clarinet, Trombone, Saxophone, Euphonium, Cornet, Tuba, Baritone Horn, Bells, Marimba, all Marching Band instruments and Percussion, Ukulele, Recorder, Cajon, and Guitar, all taught under one roof.
We are the only school in Michiana that offers all of these popular instruments year round in one location.
All ESOM teachers either hold college degrees in music (sometimes multiple music degrees), have years of professional performance experience, or both. Our music teachers are dedicated to learning about your personal musical goals and helping you to achieve them. We are confident that we have the right teacher to meet your music lesson needs. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and dedicated to teaching you the style of music that you want to learn in your music lesson.
We offer music lessons five days a week to accommodate your busy schedule.
12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday.
9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays
Every year, aspiring music teachers start their own studio, and a year or two later it’s closed. Elkhart School of Music has a proven track record of offering quality music lessons in Michiana year round. Our full time mission is teaching music lessons trusted by over 8,000 families for over nineteen years.
We have a parent friendly waiting area with a coloring table/reading area for kids and fresh reading material and comfortable chairs for adults. Instead of waiting in a music retail store showroom, our clients enjoy free Wi-Fi, comfortable chairs, kids books, coloring books, and magazines. Parents are always welcome to "sit in" during their child’s lesson anytime they wish.
Our rooms are stocked with everything you need for music lessons, including amps, full drum kits, pianos and more. Piano, Voice, and Drum students need only bring their printed lesson materials to lessons. All others bring their instrument as well. One of the things that sets us apart is our focus on providing lessons that are fresh, new, and engaging.
Every parent wants to know how his child is doing. The best way for a parent to understand if his investment in lessons is really worth it is to have his child participate in concert. At Elkhart School of Music, we hold concerts twice a year (June and December). We professionally videotape all our concerts and families may purchase a recording of the entire concert or just the performance(s) of their choice on a DVD, Blu-Ray, Thumb Drive, or SD card.
Our next concert is Saturday, December 20, 2025
This recital is open to the public. Admission is $15
We are the only music school in Michiana that offers full time professional customer service for their students seven days a week. We have office team members who are available to assist our clients quickly and professionally even when the school is closed.
A competent, trained customer service representative answers phones from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday (holidays included).
ESOM sells all music books, instruments (new and used), supplies, and accessories that are needed for study. No need to wait for an internet order or to travel miles to get what you need.
Due to its central location, our school is convenient to all areas of Michiana. Close to our school, you will find great shopping and dining. We have many students from Elkhart, Osceola, Mishawaka, Granger, Goshen, Bristol, Bremen, Nappanee, Cassopolis, Edwardsburg, and South Bend. Some even travel from as far away as Etna Green, New Carlisle, White Pigeon, and Warsaw.
Pictures are taken of all performers before every concert by a professional photographer. This happens twice a year and adds to the excitement of concert day. All pictures are displayed at the Elkhart School of Music on our “Wall of Superstars”.
A start up time of eight weeks is required for registered students (paid in two installments). Students may start at any time. Once a student has studied for the minimum eight weeks, if he/she desires to continue, we will automatically transition him/her to study on a month-to-month basis. For those who wish to "try out" a few lessons before committing to a devoted course of study, we've got you covered! For a slightly higher price, take as many or as few lessons as you like "a la carte". Scroll to the bottom of this page to see tuition costs.
We offer rental instruments to our enrolled (registered) students for at-home practice. Unlike our competitors, up to 100% of your rental fees are eligible to go toward the purchase of the rental or you may use the funds toward a new instrument. And you may purchase your instrument at any time during the rental period, even if it isn't full-sized.
It's never too soon to start,
never too late to learn!
